Yum! This is a recipe that I would definitely make again. They had a good nutty taste (I used walnuts) and were a nice combination of crispy and chewy....although who knows what they will be tomorrow. The recipe also made quite a few cookies so there were plenty for the UH group as well as the Ahn's next door. They only took about eight minutes to cook so keep an eye on them so they don't over brown. Also, the balls of dough are flattened using a sugar-covered glass bottom and if the nut is too large, you can't flatten them evenly. Use your fingers to flatten the areas the glass can't reach. The little bit of sugar left on the top gives them the crunch in the name!

Walnuts!!! Delicious!
ReplyDeleteFirst bite I thought was a little tough, the 'crispy' make it hard, and 'chewy' made it stubborn... but after a few practice bites I had a system =)
Hmmm... I wonder if we all think these ones were so good because of the cookies that came before them... they were definitely more traditional.
